What are my training camps?
These camps are run as a three day course Friday-Sunday. Each day will focus on a new discipline and although it's not necessary to attend all three days the best outcomes are always achieved by taking the camp as a whole. If you are wanting to come for only part of the camp, that can be accommodated and if this is the case please contact me to arrange what will suit you.
The camps are intensive and give plenty of opportunity for all participants to be fully involved with the understanding of the skill sets being looked at for both horse and/or rider.
BE PREPARED TO BE ENGROSSED IN AN INTERACTIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT!
A Typical Progamme
*Although the training camps are set over 3 days, you are more than welcome to attend what you can i.e. 1 day, any 2 days or all 3.*
Dressage - Arrive any time between noon and 7.30pm. Settle your horse into its stable. Please bring your own feed. Bedding is provided. Ride in a flatwork session (this will be either private or group depending on when people arrive.) Fish and Chip supper will be brought in to order, so bring money if you would like to participate in this activity. The exact structure for Saturday will be discussed over supper.
Showjumping - Delegates will ride twice during the day and are invited to be interactive when not mounted. We often focus on techniques as well as course riding. In the evening we offer a trip to the local pub for 2-for-1 eating. This is a highly recommended activity for the winter months as it's warm!!
Cross Country - We have a range of portable cross country fences and two linking menages. Delegates will concentrate on cross country techniques, usually linked to Friday's and Saturday's work and will help to build exercises/course which will give further insight into the technicalities of this phase. The aim is to finish for lunch time/early afternoon to allow for a sensible departure time.
We have plenty of parking for lorries/trailers. We offer hook up and stabling at additional charge, please contact myself directly to arrange. We have a kettle, fridge, sink and microwave available in the rest room for you to use at any time. Tea, coffee and biscuits are also always available to everybody on a help yourself basis.
