I made loads of progress because of a high level of challenge, support and personal attention. A very interesting and enjoyable course in a friendly and well-equipped environment. Brenda who attended the GOBE 80/90 course in preparation for Shelford Manor horse trials - where she came 8th in her first BE event, well done Brenda!
The clinic has been first class and I would recommend it to anyone serious about improving their riding. Capella who attended the February 2014 BE clinic.
Well worth it. Any advice was well accepted. Louise who attended the February BE Clinic.
Overall, a great experience, great teacher with a positive attitude towards everything and very enthusiastic. Gave lots of helpful tips and information that I can take away with me and use daily. A wonderful experience despite the weather! Thank you. Annie and Meme who attended a rather rainy January course 2014.
This weekend has been enlightening, challenging and enjoyable in equal measure - Alfie has really had his opened and so have I! I know now what is mandatory! I was pushed and encouraged all at the same time. I went out of my comfort zone in my head and then when I had a go and got results - how great was that!! Thanks so much Sue - I will certainly be back and I will recommend your courses very, very highly. Roz and Alfie who attended the November course 2013.
Really interesting and focused on getting more from my riding. Sue made it interesting and fun! We will be back again! Lots to take away and practice. 12yo Olivia who attended the September 2013 camp.
I came on this clinic as a pure dressage rider at Medium affiliated level and having never jumped before except for a few tiny xpoles at home and low telegraph poles on fun rides. By the end of Saturday I jumped a course of showjumps and on Sunday did xc. Sue has the ability to explain everything in detail, so that you can approach each 'challenge' with the information and tools you need. I never once felt out of my depth and had complete faith in Sue that she wouldn't ask me to do anything that I, or my horse wasn't able to do because she had already given me enough information to give me the confidence to do it. I will definitely book on another course and now have the confidence to go out and have a go! The group were fabulous and we were all at different levels and abilities. The yard also has a lovely atmosphere and I will be back! Kathy
Fantastic weekend. Can't express how much I've learned. I've left with plenty of fantastic advice. Can't wait to book again, thank you Sue. Patricia and Duke attended the May training camp.
Absolutely fab,I've been to two of Sue's clinics and everytime I've left feeling like Lucinda Green! Maxine and Buddy
I came to the training camp with an open mind since I did not know Sue and it paid off! The instruction was informative and only ever constructive. Even in group lessons, each rider was given tailored help according to their needs. Instruction was simple and easy to follow and the riders and horses all improved as a result. Sue has a great depth of knowledge and her presentation is clear and often when needed, light hearted. We will difinitely attend future clinics or weekends, despite being 2 hours away! Tracy and CJ who attened the February training camp.
Sue is a fantastic coach at all levels of training, I have come away with superb knowledge on all aspects, she makes things easy to understand. Jill and Timo who attened the February training camp.
"Having bought a horse from the Riding School, Sue has made me realise I can expect more from him and myself. Sue's approachable, realistic, and direct approach to teaching is something I like from an instructor. Every excercise has an aim and helps me achieve long term goals. I was lacking in confidence and shied away from jumping but Sue has made me realise I should approach it as "fun" and I am now more than happy to jump on my own and enjoy it! Every criticism is productive and supportive." Rachel and Bob.
Comment from the November 2012 B.E Training camp attendee. “Wow what a brilliant weekend and what an amazing woman Sue is. I am truly glad I attended the course. The main reasons for me attending were that I had struggled for three years with my mare who had effected my confidence so much that I was on the verge of giving up. Instead I brought a six year gelding, which a lot of people criticized me for, saying 'novice on novice'. I knew I wanted to event but needed to build my skills and gain my confidence back. Ajax my gelding had previously done eventing and I thought he moved beautifully. On the Friday night it was flat lesson themed on lengthening and shortening. Sue commented that he floated but was not really working properly. Sue gave me the knowledge and tools to improve him and I have to say in the few weeks I had owned him I was amazed to find him actually working through his back properly for the first time. On Saturday the lengthening & shortening theme continued but used for jumping purposes. I soon realised just how little I really knew but Sue was brilliant. She explains and breaks down each part very clearly but makes the learning fun. Some how she seems to know exactly what the horses are thinking. She really is like some kind of Doctor Dolittle! This helped enormously with my aids and communication to Ajax. We have definitely started to form a partnership. Saturday afternoon we were learning about bounces, I had never done bounces before and I don’t mind admitting I began to feel scared so much so this began to effect Ajax jumping, my worst fears came true and he stopped (this had happed all the time with the mare) I did not want to ruin it for Ajax so I asked Sue if she would mind jumping Ajax which she did amazingly. I would love to tell you all about the exercise Sue made me do with Ajax to show how my feelings can transfer to Ajax it was amazing, but that would not be to fair of me to share Sue’s secrets. On the Sunday it was cross country with bounces I was still a little apprehensive but I forgot to mention how supportive the other riders were in the groups. Sue sensed my fears and again spent a lot of time breaking each section down, giving me clear instructions. Before I knew it Ajax and I were flying around the course, I had never been so happy! I had achieved and superseded all my objectives of attending the course. If you are still in any doubt about attending any of Sue’s courses then please see my photograph. Every time I feel any doubt about my jumping I look at my photographs from this course and smile and know I can do it. I can not wait for next years Eventing session to start. I owe Sue a huge debt, she got me back jumping but more importantly to love my riding again, Ajax and I are going from strength to strength. Thank you Sue so much you are amazing." Jill and Ajax.
Jill and Ajax mastering bounces!
"Since being coached by Sue, I have developed from a riding school client to competing successfully at British Eventing 100/Novice level, with a goal of reaching Bramham U25 3*. Sue always starts her lessons with clear, precise and achievable goals; therefore I always feel I have expanded my knowledge of the sport and accomplished something. Sue's ability to explain how a horse should feel is very clear with her excellent use of analogies. I have learnt that the ability to read and respond to how your horse feels underneath you is a fundamental part of our base of knowledge, which enables you to improve your overall performance. I recommend Sue's clinics and lessons to all my eventing friends from BE 80 to international level, as Sue's extensive knowledge suits all levels of riders." Libby and Tweenie.

Excellent clinic, thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, learnt loads! Brother and sister, Richard and Claire who attended the March BE clinic.
I like Sue's lessons because she teaches me new things, she gives me things to practice at home and she helps me to be a better horse rider.
Seven year old Kyna and her pony Rosso.
This has been such a great weekend! Sue has taught me a completely different way of riding my horse resulting in a much happier, calmer, round and supple horse that could actually jump a set of showjumps! I will definitely be coming back for lessons and join in on the next training camp! Also, great value for money! Had such a great time, thanks. Alex who attended the November course 2013.
A very informative and interesting weekend, covering all aspects of eventing which can be applied to all levels! Thank you, I will be coming back! Holly and Ethell attended the May training camp.
I have found the course really useful and enjoyable. It has definitely given me lots to think about and I feel I can go away and work on the exercises that Sue has suggested in order to improve Ella's general way of going. I have seen a have seen a huge improvement over the three days of the course and Sue also ride Ella breifely which was extremely useful. Thanks Sue! Rachel and Ella who attended the February training camp .
Having owned several horses over the past 30 years I have had lessons with numerous instructors and can honestly say that Sue tops them all in my book. What makes her so different from other instructors is her talent for explaining to the rider what, how, why and when they need to do something to achieve a certain result from their horse. In the past I have also found other instructors were quick to get on my horse during a lesson and get the horse working properly, whereas Sue works with the rider to enable them to achieve this. Sue puts a 100% of herself into every lesson, and her excitement is tangible whether you have just managed to execute your first flying change or working on the basic training of a youngster. Without Sue’s tuition I would never have achieved any of the BE placings with my horse or been able to compete up to Medium Level Dressage. Karen and Zara.
